I have no idea about Mexico. I believe churros are Spanish (certainly they originated here). Perhaps they are also known in Latin America?
Obviously much scope for confusion! :o)
I had a kebab in Madrid once which really did make me want to gag!
I do remember some English pubs serving curry with chips (no rice). Things imporoved much in terms of pub grub from aout the 1980s onwards. But there were still some horrors in recent times!
