Obsession

Churros are not known in England, Laura. I'm talking anout Madrid where I have lived these past 10 years!
I have no idea about Mexico. I believe churros are Spanish (certainly they originated here). Perhaps they are also known in Latin America?
Obviously much scope for confusion! :o)

I had a kebab in Madrid once which really did make me want to gag!
I do remember some English pubs serving curry with chips (no rice). Things imporoved much in terms of pub grub from aout the 1980s onwards. But there were still some horrors in recent times!

I do believe churros are made in other Latin American countries, but are more commonly known as a Mexican treat in the USA. The Conquistadores left something good behind. ;-b

It's pretty hard to mess up kebab, it can at least be made edible. American Chinese food used to be horrible, though we didn't know the difference at the time. It tasted very canned and greasy, lots of sweet-and-sour sauce on everything. The more Chinese immigrants we got, the better the food got. Same with all other immigrant food!
