Qashqai tribe caravan in Fars, Iran, 1977

Qashqai tribe caravan in Fars, Iran, 1977
My father and two brothers were working in Iran at this time. My mother went with them and they were there for about seven months at several job sites in the desert, Tehran, Bandar Abbas and elsewhere. This location on the map, west of Shiraz, is approximate, based on my brother's recollection. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qashqai_people

I may have got to Iran for work if the Shah hadn't been deposed. Where I was working was preparing a quote and proposal for providing radio comms to an oil pipeline in 1979.

Thanks for posting Diane.

Oops, I missed this one! Now, the US is in a whole new pile of you-know-what with Iran thanks to the special finesse of our futzident. God help us all.

Anyway, you missed a fascinating culture, according to my mom and brothers. I don't think Dad was that interested - he was all about the work! He was putting up microwave antennas.
