➽ Rothenburg ob der Tauber ist eine mittelfränkische Kleinstadt im Landkreis Ansbach in Bayern.
Mit der weitgehend erhaltenen mittelalterlichen Altstadt ist die Große Kreisstadt Rothenburg eine weltbekannte Sehenswürdigkeit mit vielen Baudenkmälern und Kulturgütern.
In der Kleinstadt leben 11.000 Einwohner, davon 2.500 in der Altstadt, die jedes Jahr Ziel von 340.000 Urlaubern ist, die über Nacht bleiben und etwa 1,7 Millionen Tagesgästen.
Um dem Touristenrummel zu entgehen, empfiehlt es sich, einen Spaziergang auf oder neben der Stadtmauer zu unternehmen. Hier kann man fast die ganze Altstadt umrunden und hat einen tollen Blick über die Dächer der Stadt mit ihren zahlreichen Türmen und Toren. (PiPs)
