Bavaria Blue with rapeseed (◕‿-)

➽ Friedberg (PiP) ist eine Stadt im Landkreis Aichach-Friedberg, Bayern mit rund 30.000 Einwohnern. Sie liegt in der Nähe von Augsburg am Lech, fast vollständig am westlichen Rand der Hügel entlang der Lechleite, wo der Fluss ein breites Bett aus Gletscherschmelzwasser gebildet hat.

Erstmals erwähnt wurde das Städtchen in einem Schutzbrief des Jahres 1264. Hier ist die Errichtung einer Burg "Fridberch" angekündigt, die fortan als Grenz- und Zollsicherung des Herzogtums Bayern gegenüber Schwaben und der freien Reichsstadt Augsburg dienen sollte. Insbesondere wurden Zölle für das Überqueren der Lechbrücke erhoben, was die Augsburger nicht sehr erfreute und daher brannten sie die Stadt erstmals im Jahre 1396 nieder...
...heutzutage pflegen wir Augsburger jedoch ein gutes Verhältnis mit dem Nachbarstädtchen (persönliche Anmerkung) ;-D

➽ Friedberg (PiP) is a town in the district Aichach-Friedberg, Bavaria, Germany, with some 30,000 inhabitants. It's located next to Augsburg at the river Lech and lies almost entirely on the western edge of the hills along the "Lechleite" (means ≈ "the river course"), where the river has formed a wide bed from glacial melt water.

The town was first mentioned in a letter of protection of the year 1264. Here is announced the establishment of a castle "Fridberch", which should henceforth serve as border and customs protection of the Duchy of Bavaria against Swabia and the free imperial city of Augsburg. In particular, customs duties were levied for crossing the Lech Bridge, which the Augsburgers didn't amuse very much and therefore they burned down the city in 1396 for the first time...
... today, however, we Augsburger maintain a good relationship with the neighboring town (personal note) ;-D
