➽ The Berghof (Mountain farmyard) was the country house of Adolf Hitler on the Obersalzberg. Hitler spent about one-third of his reign at the Berghof, so added together almost 4 years.
In the first half of the year 1944 it was used as the Fuehrer's headquarters. Shortly before the war ended the building was severely damaged by Allied air raids and by the SS. The Free State of Bavaria let blow the building in 1952.
The photo was taken at the Museum Obersalzberg Center of Documentation
➽ Painting "Der Berghof", artist Anton Reinbold (1881 - 1968)
After 1936 he painted, probably as a commissioned work, several paintings of the Berghof at different seasons.
