If you have one (a lane) like this, then you are lucky as in many places the track and remains of where it was has disappeared for ever. In Britain, we have many old railway lines that have been converted to walking/cycling trails. Perfect for more people as they are easy to navigate, have no high fences or stiles to climb and are flat. This section here, only 15 minutes walk from my home is particularly beautiful in certain conditions. Glad you liked it.

In France, only the important lines between the big cities were preserved and all the small railway lines were removed. Most of them became walking and cycling trails. We are lucky to live near one of these. I have already posted some photos of it. This is one of my favorites.
