The Lochan na Lairige reservoir

The Lochan na Lairige reservoir

A look at this stark reservoir on the edge of the Ben Lawers mountain range. It is retained by the Lawers Dam as shown in the PiP. At 2km long it is not so very big but has a wild attraction. The water is piped to the Finlarig Power Station (part of the Breadalbeane Hydro-electric power scheme) on the edge of the much larger Loch Tay a few miles lower down the mountain.

Wild Scotland up here Toz. We drove the single track road on its right bank all the way and further to get to Glen Lyon. Many people stop along that same road to climb the seven Monro's of the Ben Laws range. Glad you liked it.

Definitely wild Scotland.........................vast and rugged. The mountains and. hills look very impressive. The grey skies suit this scene perfectly and the light is still pretty good,

You can say that again Keith. On this day it was wet and grey but we drove along here again at the end of our week in much better weather but comparing my finished pictures of the two days, I preferred this photo as it had more 'character'. Glad you liked it.
