Hi David. I have read reports of the 'Great Stack' being a climbing highlight but presuming this is not that (see pip) , I would think that this is also popular for climbers. Glad you enjoyed it.

A impressive rock formation..........it looks enormous! I like the detail you've captured in the stack and the surrounding black rocks. The blue sea is gorgeous. I like the image in the PiP as well......a bigger but less eroded stack and just as impressive.

Perfect nesting grounds for sea birds such as the ones you describe. Great stuff Herb!

It was most impressive Keith and seemed pretty big. The Great Stack is supposed to be bigger but as it is bulkier and has a flat top it does not really look so. Coincidentally, we saw another equally impressive stack the day after.

Lots of birds here and some snaps to come from me. Glad you are enjoying my trip so far.

Hi Herb looks a great trip across and a great place to visit looked it up on the net it reminds my of a trip across to Isle of Staffen.

Thanks Gordon, it was a great trip. You have me there with this comment though - do you mean Staffin on the Isle of Skye or the Isle of Straffa which is the home to Fingal's Cave in the Inner Hebrides? In any case glad you are enjoying these which are def on Handa.
