The 'Eye of the Wind' on the Caladonian Canal
As this 100 year old brig descends the last of the canal locks, after 'Neptune's Staircase' it slowly edges into the siding for its over-night stay. Only the sea-gate to navigate before entering the sea Loch Linnhe thus having sailed from the East coast of Scotland at Inverness to the West coast via Loch Ness here to Fort William.

Another fine shot! It looks very like the brig I used to see at Loch Scavaig, Skye in the late 70s.

PGarcia and Andy, good that you stopped by. We followed thus brig down from the top of the staircase of locks before walking with it down on this flatter section. You could well be right Andy, looks like it has been around for some time but it is still in excellent condition.

Steve and Wally, many thanks for calling around. Yes it was very fortuatous that this brig was around. I took lots of it in the staicase too but this forfilled the role here. In fact I also saw it the next day in the Loch itself in rather nice lighting but still using its engines instead of sail. I might put one of those on here too in the future.
