Lake Clifton And Bow

at the end of the jetty looks south to north. It sure was crowded but enjoyed the night. If you follow the line of the front railing you can see the burn off fire glowing in the sky. Contrast the Lay of the Emu in the milky way to the Eastern orientation in the PIP.

I convinced my wife to come out with me and see the milky way for the first time in her life. we get to Lake Clifton to find about 15 people all over the walk way. the tide was high so the water in this lake also was much higher than i have seen before look at the PIP. Enjoy WA.

I know its getting close to fly away time when i looked in before i got my camera the chick was up stretching but now as you can see its making itself as small as it can . time line we have two days left if the books are right. once the chick is gone i will remove the nest and post close ups of it. To think this is no more than 8" outside our bedroom window 3" above the ground. the storm on the weekend i had to cut all the flowers off as they where acting as sails in the very strong winds. the bush was being shaken beyond belief, we have got this far what are a few flowers to help nature .... compare the PIP 12 days ago.

Part 15 I can Hear you

For these shots i am hiding in the cloths closet with the 150-600mm lens results worth it. for the first time we can actually hear the baby make a noise when the parents get on the rose bush.
Bridal Vale Falls
Hole In the Forrest
|
|
|
|
Call it Dumb call it brave call it foolhardy. my first tip to NZ with my first Nikon i walked into the bush in the pouring rain under an umbrella to walk to Bridal Vale falls. i saw this hole in the Forrest on the track that let a little light in. trying to capture this i had to set the camera up myself and shoot as the camera wanted a nice even lighting and overexposed the whole shot. i was after the feel of the dark Forrest and this small window of light. its not your well exposed shot but view it on black like you are in the Forrest yourself and you will see it truly is.
A shot for myself but it fits in well here so enjoy.

Piha NZ
The rock at the very front is called the "Nun" an attempt to capture the colours of the storm not the colours on Nikon. the camera was in a plastic bag to shoot in the rain storm. an image i walked away very happy with.

it has taken me 4 days to get this shot no matter how slow i was able to push the lens through the join in the curtains she flew away. today i got 10 pegs(hold curtain closed around the lens) tripod and had it all set up most of the day till she got use to it and flew in.
