"28" eating a Guava

17 Apr 2022 8 4 143
I came out to check if there was any more ripe fruit on the trees. I heard a very quiet noise of bits falling out of the tree and landing on the leaves below. it took a while to find the "28" sitting high up in the tree enjoying the White fleshed Guava.

Wide field Of the Southern Cross

15 Apr 2022 11 12 406
This is some thing I have always wanted to take after I took it on Feb 2019 this is purely us under southern skies. this is never seen in the northern hemisphere only seen south of the equator and why you cant miss them as they are so bright in the night sky. So I used my 105mm Nikon lens to take a 3 shot panorama of the area over the last three night. The Points of Interest is what we see every night the Southern Cross and the Pointers not forgetting the head of the Emu between them both. The detail in the shot was an outstanding bonus but certainly no spectacular nebula in the shot its all about the stars and there is plenty of them. This was 80 shots a night for the three night getting each panel together. Each night it was a manual focus ZWOASI071MC -10 80 shots per the 3 nights 450 sec rotated 73 degrees. Waking Up:- Borya Constricta Churchill

11 Apr 2022 4 3 171
After the very long hot summer we have had good solid soaking rain in our area not just in the hills and spits like we have had for a few months. The plant is waking up after its long summer sleep as you can see the leaves forming rosettes again not closed tightly. With a bit more rain this should turn green if the plant does not get enough water it will simply hibernate some more.

Carina Nebula NGC3372

06 Apr 2022 12 8 286
my aim was to get in a photo the whole of this large nebula. this was taken with the Nikon 300mm F4 D lens. this is the largest nebula in the milky way if you are out in the real dark you can see this with your eyes. middle of the bow you can see the red of Carina. the first was ED80 and Full frame next was ED80 zwoasi071mc. this is the only photo to include the whole nebula in detail. colour is all about learning how to get the colours right from what you have in front of you on your computer screen.. ZWOASI071MC -10 102 shots over two nights 600 sec rotated 93 degrees. Nikon 300 mm f4 D Lens Skywatcher NEQ 6 Pro Hypertuned Guided PHD2, SGP Pixinsight, Ps Lr.

Statue Of Liberty NGC3576

25 Mar 2022 13 9 265
I was after this with the closer view than my first so the nebula can be seen better. I was after three night but had to bring my gear in after only one we where to be clouded and storms. when I was disconnecting a small piece of the USB3 broke and fell on to the ground at my feet. you can see the very small part on top of the camera. As the camera is under warranty (sep 2021) I wrote to the shop I purchased the camera from and am waiting for there instructions. So it is only going to be just the one night of 52 photos till next year. I have included a starless version so you can better see the statue of Liberty clearly with out the stars. In between the Wishing well nebula/ Constellation And the statue Of Liberty This was shot over three night but in truth I can not get over the dust on the front glass of the ED80 and the Guide scope. I had to clean down each night in an effort to get a better photo. QHY183C -10c 150 shot 10 min over three nights each. Back Fence

17 Mar 2022 20 35 240
This is our new back fence (yes there is a fence under all those leaves) as yet I have not found out what plant this is. It grabs hold of anything close to cling to and climb over. even our plants we put too close after 2 weeks the tendrils had found the plants and was trying to climb over them all. this vine is the extreme foreground of the shot of the Kookaburra. I took a small piece to the local nursery we where able to identify it as we found some there for sale. The Plant is Pyrostegia Venusta orange Trumpet vine. www.burkesbackyard.com.au/fact-sheets/in-the-garden/climbers/orange-trumpet-creeper-3

Kookaburra Next Door

16 Mar 2022 16 14 228
Part of learning a new house is who you share the area with. this is not the first time I have seen this bird when I get up early but the first time I got the camera and tried to capture on the D810 in QUIET mode. In the park next door we have a tree that a whole flock of Corellas roost each night, in the morning fly out just after first light. the size of the flock and the noise is staggering. I will find out what tree and sit in wait and hope not to be eaten by mozies........ This in part is why I own a camera thats not called a phone and matching lens.... Enjoy an early morning in Southlake's WA.

Walking with Giants "The Little Girl"

14 Feb 2015 10 10 231
The little girl was looking for her friend the Diver sadly I could only be at one place to watch the Giants wake up as they where on opposites side of the town but a fast walk I got the diver sleeping at the train station in the center of perth. Huge crowds followed in awe all day and lined the walk ways of both. I chose to follow "the little girl". The Girl was sleeping on a bed as she woke up she had a shower and was cleaned, she even looked at the men cleaning her feet getting wet and smiled. she walked till she had to go on a boat ride trying to get to her friend. these are puppets but if you looked the movements and actions where so life like you would have thought them alive. I was on a time budget so was not able to see the two meet up other than on TV . top marks that they where just so real other than the ropes and frames that went with them.

Wishing Well Cluster NGC3532

10 Mar 2022 7 4 230
The left hand side is the cluster it is so said as they resemble silver dollars in a wishing well. I wanted to include some of the colour about it as well. Middle at the bottom of the wide field photos. This is two nights 105 shots each as the nights get longer. QHY183C -10c 105 shot 10 min over two nights each. Shiraz Fence

10 Mar 2022 15 34 233
This is a pictorial look at how wine is made in the time honored simple process, apart from the sit in the Barrel for two months for it to change from gape juice to Wine. Friday last week the 900 Kg of grapes where crushed and left to ferment. 6 days later there is nothing left but skins and seeds. days later the the tap was opened to the juice and begin pressing. some good old fashion foot work was needed and clean up to put in the pressing fence. the start of the pressing of all the skins and seeds inside the wooden cage.

This shot went straight together in PTGui even though it was only stars as the join. This is a part of the Carina Nebula the Hand cluster is to the left and carina to Right. This is two nights per panel or 105 shots each as the nights get longer. QHY183C -10c 105 shot 10 min over two nights each.
