Solar Eclipse - Leaf filters

I was working the day of the eclipse at school. I was painting a room but kept my eye on the time. I joined all the kids out on the play area with there home made solar filters that showed the sun on the white paper below. As I had my camera I spotted nature's own pinhole filter the leaves on the trees down the path.
I was able to see the solar eclipse for real as one person had a set of real sun filters so you could look at the sun. We got to see a crescent like moon. I kick myself not ever buying a solar filter for my camera set up. You can be sure that will be coming up soon.

Steve Paxton club has replied to Nick Weall clubA very nice and creative picture, which I like very much!
Wonderful and interesting idea
I must admit that I use an arc welding visor to look at and photograph the sun. It works well..
Best Wishes, a nice weekend, and stay safe!!

Steve Paxton club has replied to Peter_Private_Box clubPeter_Private_Box club has replied to Steve Paxton clubI just checked the size of mine, about 100mm X110mm.
Just a point to note, there are two elements in the visor, the glass (in front) which guards against splashes, and the filter (nearest the eyes) which is dark plastic. Both are readily replaceable, and very cheap!!!
Best wishes
Peter
