The beaver has been making improvements to the spillway. It is higher than it was and reinforced with sticks.

Caught looking into my "critter cam" one night. Probably a raccoon; definitely not a beaver.
Don't blame the beavers ;-)

Possibly the same bird as in the previous photo. I'm not sure of the identification of either photo.
This one was perfectly posed between me and the oak tree when I first saw it. It flew away less than a minute later.
I have tentatively changed the species of this bird at Dörthe's suggestion. I'm still not sure about this. I continue to see them from time to time, so perhaps I can get some better photos.

I take a photo from this point often. I think this morning's colors are particularly beautiful.

Weir, Mississippi. An excellent place to have clocks repaired, and also receive an education on clocks.

Megaceryle alcyon
Probably the same bird as another recent photo.

Buteo platypterus?
This bird attacked something just above my living room door, then perched on a nearby tree for several minutes. I took several photos through the window before it flew away.

I hadn't originally shared this photo because of the blurred dog, but Keith asked whether the two knew of each other's presence.
