You are lucky to have pineapples growing in your garden. I love them, but I have to buy them... At least we have a fig tree, this year full of fruit.

Thank you, Christa. Each of these pineapples is a descendent of one purchased at the grocery store. I have a fig tree, too. I pick a few figs when I walk by it when they are ripe.

I got a recipe called "pineapple tepache" that I have started with the peels from several pineapples. The recipe calls for some brown sugar. I'll know in a few days how it is.

The tepache de piña is very good, and quite a new taste for me. It is rather tart, and I think it is slightly alcoholic
