Eastern tiger swallowtail

Papilio glaucus. The males of this species are always yellow. Females can be either yellow or black, with black being more common in the southern part of their range.

I like our two swallowtail types, and American one adds an elegant, if darker, addition to the set. I presume there are more swallowtail types out there?

Thanks, Andy. My copy of "Kaufman field guide to butterflies of North America" lists 28 species of swallowtails. There's always something new to be seen.
