Gorgeous flower and such a tiny katydid. Superb photo. Recently I saw one I think as small as this one-- I couldn't tell what it was by my naked eye, but in the photo it was clear. Unfortunately focus was off. I've never seen another one that small, but they would be hard to notice, I think.
A terrific capture!

Thank you. I thought it might be a katydid. Possibly it is a nymph. Best wishes for the new week.

It was just a guess on my part. The one I had may be similar or not. What do you think? Here it is (on a leaf of a butterfly milkweed plant).

I think it is probably some sort of katydid nymph, but I can't find a photo like it in my guide books. This is a big subject. You have a good photo, so probably some specialist could make an identification.

Thanks. I have another, more mysterious critter that I'd like to have identified. I will post them together in the same post and request identification some time. Many thanks.

Thank you very much, Marie-claire. I would have photographed the flower even without the insect. ;-)
