It was just a guess on my part. The one I had may be similar or not. What do you think? Here it is (on a leaf of a butterfly milkweed plant).

I think it is probably some sort of katydid nymph, but I can't find a photo like it in my guide books. This is a big subject. You have a good photo, so probably some specialist could make an identification.
