It does not touch the trees. There are wooden poles in the mud that hold up the bridge. The wire mesh prevents small children from falling to the alligators below. ;-)

Yes, it is. I think it was designed so that no trees needed to be cut down.

That's a very appealing boardwalk! I like the pokey cypress shoots. I've never seen that iconic tree except in photos. Nicely framed shot!

Thanks, Diane. I also have these trees in front of my house. The "knees" don't get big unless the trees are growing in water.
