For this week's Sunday challenge: 'Something, someone or an event that impacted your life in some way.'
In 2007 Adrian took a job in Tananger, Norway and I joined him permanently in October. We stayed there for 5 years and I had a wonderful time. It was the first time I'd used a digital camera and I learned quickly. I'm now on my 4th model. We did lots of walking and I was living by the sea again for the first time in 60 odd years. I paid to have Norwegian lessons, and bought these books which helped me to meet and communicate with many lovely, now lifelong, friends, even though the vast majority of Norwegians speak very good English albeit with an American accent.
We returned to England at the end of 2012, but I made a trip in 2014. It was an experience of a lifetime.
I particularly liked the colloquialisms found in the 'Har det på tunga' book. The cartoon on the front cover illustrates the English phrase 'It's on the tip of my tongue'.

Clematis viticella 'Emilia Plater'. Very easy to grow. Prune right back to 1 foot before the end of February and watch it grow.
This is about as far as I can get with a camera at the moment - just outside our back door.

Just to let you all know that, due to personal reasons, I won't be on-line for about 3 weeks at least. I must also apologise for my lack of visits and comments over the last 4 weeks. Hopefully I'll soon be back on top form. Meanwhile keep supporting Ipernity with all your wonderful photos. May you all have perfect light.

Saturday Self Challenge: For this challenge the theme is anything red.
This is part of a slow cook-pot. The abstract shapes on the pot come from various reflections of the kitchen window. The on-off switch is on the bottom right corner so the word 'off' is written on the pot. No-one seems to have understood the literary allusion here. I wonder if anyone will be able to tell me.

TSC: Keyholes.
In the original part of our home we found these clumsy Victorian door locks, covered in layers of paint. 35 years ago I spent many hours trying to get down to the basics. I wouldn't bother doing that now. ;-)

After a humid day of thunderstorms eventually the sky cleared enough to produce some nice cumulus clouds. This was taken from our back bedroom window. Today it's just evenly grey.
