Bempton cliffs

The Bempton cliffs are steep and there was plenty of puffin activity at sea level according to a guy with an adjusted telescope. He let me have a look and sure enough the little birds were quite plentiful there, but I couldn't recoginise them without the telescope. These puffin 'burrows' were about a third of the way down the cliffs, and just within the zoom distance of my lens. Gannets seemed to be the most common bird here, but of course they are large and easy to see.
The cliffs are chalky and seem to be held together by guano.

I had a walk around our village this morning, looking upwards, and these are what I found for part of today's challenge.

Saturday Self-Challenge: Create a picture which looks as if it's taken 100 years ago.
In Photoshop I changed the photo to B&W, and using colour effex I added a white lens vignette effect. I then added the title. The framing and texture effect were completed using PicMonkey.
The PiP show the actual photo taken 2 days ago.
HFF everyone.

This memorial was commissioned in 2005 by Whitby Civic Society who wanted a memorial to seamen which would be both practical and decorative. It takes the form of galvanised steel gates which incorporate a design of a modern trawler alongside a ship from Capatain Cook's era. In the centre there is a motif of a landed catch.
This replaced the original storm gates which close off the West Pier during stormy weather.

The Sunday Challenge for 21st July: TWO OF SOMETHING EITHER TOGETHER OR APART
The PiP shows an adult gannet with a chick, but the photo is a tad blurred because I was at the limit of the zoom on the lens and the camera was hand held.

Fifty years ago today, US astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans in history to set foot on the Moon, an event watched on television by half a billion people.
Their lunar module, named "Eagle," touched down at 4.18pm ET on 20 July 1969.

Saturday Self-Challenge 20.07.2019: Let's take a photo of any kind of water. It can be a body of water or a glass of water. It can be rain or a waterfall. It can also be long exposure if you really want a challenge.
