just joined ipernity.unhappy with flickr's disregard for longtime members. have not figured out how to post photos into groups i've joined since arriving. could you please help with that? glad to be aboard!

Add TamperMonkey plugin to your Chrome browser rather than GreaseMonkey, then install the flickr2ipernity script. It should work.

I'm part of the legions fleeing flickr's idiocy after six years of happily paying for a pro account. I like what I see here so far, and plan to test it out for a little while and decide whether to pay up.

Here's a question that somebody might be able to answer. One of the most useful parts of the old flickr for me was the nested organization allowed by collections and sets. I see ipernity has albums. Is there a similar nested structure here, or albums within albums? Is it possible that we could get one?

Not yet "collections". But possibility of grouping albums in albums will come soon.

I too would like to move my photos – some 2,500 of them – from Flickr. However, I am having some trouble with the Flickr2ipernity plug-in.

I have Greasemonkey installed, but I can’t get it to recognize Flickr2ipernity.

If I ask Greasemonkey to search for it, it can’t find it. If I download Flickr2ipernity manually, and try installing it from within the Firefox add-ons utility, I get an error message telling me that the plug-in cannot be installed because it appears to be corrupt.

Can anyone help?

Actually, after about an hour of effort I was able to solve the problem. I had never used Greasemonkey before and there was a bit of a learning curve.

Does ipernity have anything like Flickr's stats? I love stats. If those are here too, I'm sold.

No stats. But we could plan to implement stats if this feature is requested by a lot of users.

I second that. Just cause the exIstent picture-stats telling much more about your visitors as the flickr-ones ever did or where could you see who has visit you and how often he has seen any content, and when the last time?
There are so many open bugs here since the re-coding of the website that no new features should be added before the exist ones even work or are just usuable. Did I allready mentonied the RSS-Feeds which are mostly empty and broken? ;-)

I, too, have just followed many others by joining after seeing what has become of Flickr. However, I haven't left Flickr for good- I have 8000+ images on there. I do like the appearance and organization of ipernity and have just 'risked' paying for a three month Club membership to see how it goes, although I am quite confident I shall not be disappointed.

ipernity looks great but I tried to make a gallery but could only get 25 images into it using Organize. Once the box within the gallery was full I was unable to add any more. Can anyone tell me how I am going wrong, or is 25 the maximum allowed? I have deleted the gallery because I want it to be complete.( Peter Ashton, New Club member).

Galleries- Please ignore my question about getting more than 25 pics into a gallery. I found that the box expands every time you insert an image into a new row at the bottom of the box. Found it by accident- a simple instruction would have helped!

NIce that there is somebody who takes care... :) I have a look round Ipernity, now, after the Flickr desaster - and quite like what I see. What puzzles me a bit - I think at the beginning I had my newly uploaded photos on my homepage but since I uploaded an article they seem to be gone, and I have no idea how to get them back (although there is a site that tries to explain what to do...) -- I won't cancel my Flickr account immediately but I think that Ipernity is a good option and it is likely that I will move here 'for good'. :)

I'm coming over from Flickr.... Checking this site out. I have a question before I decide to upload anything, though: is it possible to hide ones photos from 3rd party searches on this site? That's a major thing for me as I'm not uploading photos for the world to find and use....

Another major concern... Is there a way to limit who can see the original high res. version of one's photos? On Flickr you could set only contacts (for example) to have access to view original sizes of your photos.

And another concern.... Is there a setting to prevent download? (I know such things aren't foolproof, but it should at least be available)

Another Flickr refugee saying hi and thanx for being here. I really loved Flickr and enjoyed my time there so I'm not giving up completely but so far I have found it quite comfortable here, like visiting a local store instead of a Wal-Mart or Target. Love the little Guestbook and articles ideas. Sometimes simple things work best.
One question: Is it possible to post additional photos in the comments of your main photo? Haven't figured that out yet. On Flickr you clicked on Share to grab tbe HtML code to use.

Are the content settings only available to paying users? If not, where can I find those settings to check 'em out?

I've just added "Tampermonkey" to Chrome but cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to transfer my photos which are all in Sets.

I've no doubt we will shortly get a Chrome how-to from the ipernity team. Once all my stuff is safely transported to my ipernity page, I'll be entering the Club!

This year would have been 5 years for me at flickr! I have opened free account, will be giving this the test drive, really liking what I have seen so far. Thank you for making us feel welcome and for the interest in our arrival, and the help to get started!

One more question.... might be the last one (for the sake of all who've been so helpful).... Is there a way to view comments one has made on other people's photos? Like, Flickr had the "recent activity" feature where you could view "comments on other people's photos" (not exact wording).... I've been tinkering on this site and have commented on a few photos.... And that got me thinking 'cause I would want to check back with friends' responses to what I've said and stuff...

OKIE.... So, now that I was shown where I can view my previous comments, it leads me to another question on that issue.... So, I can see my comments, I can responses to said comments... Now, is there someplace on that page I can click on one of my particular comments to take me back to it?

I ask in the case of this type of post in this huge list of responses.... It's hard to weed through all of these to get back to an original post of my own should I want to further respond to something someone said in response to what I posted....

Do you have albums import from flickr? I have about 700 albums there. It would be difficult to recreate them here.

I have a question about sharing images here. I can't find a feature that would allow me to embed tumbnails of my images on other sites/forums like I do with my flickr images. Is such feature availabe and I just don't see it? Or available for club members? Or don't available at all?
The only reason I need a site like Flickr is to be able to share my images on other sites, if I can't do it here all similarities to old Flickr version won't do me any good.

One other concern. I've tried to make an image private, but it is still shown in my 'recent images'. This is not good, I think such images sould not be shown at all to the public. Do you plan to do anything about it?

Did you try to see your private image, when you ar on ipernity without being logged in?

Yes, I logged out to see how it works, and the image was right there in my 'uploaded recently' stream. It was not clickable lika other images, but I could see it. I uploaded the image as public, and only after set settings to private, so maybe if uploaded as private it would not be shown in the stream, but in any case I think this should be corrected.

I'm also wondering about this feature.... Especially since I like to create a story with my photos by linking certain ones together and stuff. It can probably still be done the old fashioned HTML code way, but a BB code would make the process so much easier and quicker.

BB codes are coming :) Probably by tomorrow.

I love easy you have made the transfer from Flickr to to ipernity :) I'm now running two accounts letting time decided witch one I should favour in the end. But if the Flickr is going down the rabbit hole now as it seems I feel so much safer having a good option to move in to.

made the switch over from Flickr like so many others. I was there since 2007. I am loving the ability to upload 90 photos at a time. It will still take a while with my 11,000+ pictures but thank you so much for developing that. It's much easier than having to reupload everything and retag it all.

Seem to have an issue inserting HTML code here.... I can't get this type of code to work in any way, shape or form. I looked at the help list for diff't codes and tinkered with things to make it appear in that format, but it still doesn't work for me... Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

That´s still so pity to switch in 2007 from flickr to ipernity caused by the censoring and switch back to flickr a mounth ago in 2013 cause I will access to my own original photos after 31.March 2013 and to read that others will switch to ipernity now from flickr.

But as long I will not being able to download my own photo-originals (not even the 200 which are visible in the free account) I won´t come back to Ipernity. My own photos should remain under my control even it´s past of 31.March 2013. Why should I upload content which I wasn´t able to download after that magical day?!?

The RSS - Feeds for new photos or videos aren´t working here (why there´s this splitting?). api.ipernity.com/feed/doc?user_id=kiezkicker&only=photo was empty.

Another Flickr refugee here. I love Ipernity so far EXCEPT for one thing: you don't seem to be able to upload photos in VERTICAL format. You have to go into each one and rotate.. a real pain. Is this a bug, am I doing something wrong or is this something that might be fixed in the future? Otherwise, a great site and a welcome relief from Yahoo. Thanks!

Never had the problem. Usually the rotation is stored in the picture metadata itself. Maybe those informations went lost in the transferring workflow?

Seeing the response on here with the influx of Flickr "fleers".... It would be so cool if there was a special on new accts. created by those coming from Flickr to allow them, say, 10 days with no upload cap to move their stuff over and then the 200MB/mo cap to kick in. The reason I say that is because many of us still have "pro" accts. on Flickr that we paid for and thousands of photos to deal with. Many can't cancel their paid for Flickr accts. outright and then try to migrate over here because the script to move their photos won't work. Paying for two hosting places at the same time may not be an option for many folks (many renewed at the 2yrs. rate and forked over about $50). Also, Flickr is offering pro-rated refunds, but, when someone has thousands of photos to move.... the time it takes to do that will end up meaning that they aren't likely to get much back (even if they make the August deadline). If, however, there was no cap on here people would be able to migrate much quicker, cancel their pro accts. sooner, and be far more inclined to fork their hard earned money to this site for being treated so kindly (besides this site being pretty great) =)

I know it's a nutty proposition... But think how many more paying members you're likely to attract. Not saying this for myself necessarily... I just feel so bad for folks who are staring down the barrel of having to move over 10K photos which they have no other backup for.... And, to add insult to insult, Yahoo will keep their money for their troubles, too, 'cause they can't move things fast enough to get a reasonable portion of their $ back --- some folks have paid for 2yrs., no less! And they have only until August to get themselves sorted out while dealing with a photostream that is a nightmare to navigate or do anything with.

Does anyone else have a problem with the organizer staying stuck on 'loading' in Firefox? It works ok in Chrome.
I also tried to import my Flickr content but the order of photos seems to get mixed up, is there a way round this? And is there a way to go directly to the latest comment in a thread like this instead of having to constantly click on 'next comments'?

Hi - yet another flickr refugee here :-)

Having just installed the two Flicker import scripts into an updated copy of Firefox (with GreaseMonkey) -

They seem to be working fine on the flickr side - all the links and pop-ups appeared as you might expect - I tried to import 3 batches of 90, and also a couple of individual images using the other script.

I'm wondering how long it should take before anything shows up in my new ipernity account?

I'm happy to wait as long as it takes to clear any server queue... just wondering when I can conclude it hasn't worked?

The complication for me would be that my flickr account is authenticated via a Yahoo account, but I'm authenticating to you via Google. But I am keeping the two authenticated browser tabs open at the same time, as instructed.

Should that work? I would obviously prefer not to have to make a new ipernity account based upon my Yahoo account identity.

I transferred photos from my Flickr Dublin 2013 set to ipernity but they have appeared in random order. Is there any way to put them in to the correct order in the ipernity equivalent of Flickr's Photostream? I have made three albums where it is possible to change the order and I have done so successfully.

Would it be possible, in the future to, transfer a Flickr Set in a batch?
I had a look at the new batch upload tool and it would be great if I wanted to upload all my pics from Flickr. However, I would prefer to be selective. Any chance of being able to select from each batch of 90 as they are are presented?

Winter*kind Thanks for your rapid reply. I meant the order in which I took the photos which is the order in which I uploaded them individually. This is important to keep photos taken in distinct locations together. I have tried 'Organize' but it does not allow moving images around.

ipernity is without question one of the coolest places ever -- and all the more so for the incredibly nice and efficient way we Flickr refugees have been welcomed! So glad to be here, and plan to stay for a long, long time.

Could anybody please explain where the link for importing a SINGLE photo appear after installing the single - import - gm-script?
Mostly my streams at ipernity and flickr are allready synced to each other so I won´t using these 90 pics- badge - gm-script (which appears at top of the overview).

Quick question: Is there a finer adjustment for the sharing options that allows the photo owner to access those sharing features even if they're turned off to prevent other people from sharing the photos? In other words.... I want to have access to the BBcode of my photos, but don't want others to have that same access -- or even better, would like certain contacts groups (like family, for instance) to have that option and others (like acquaintances) to not.

Hope that makes sense...

@Fizgig its possible to allow category´s to download and embed files or not in the settings for Maximum quality, download, embedded code but from what I can see this is only possible with a club account.

Glad to be here, even with the delays with all the new users. I have managed to import over 2,500 photos over from Flickr. Nice response times to querys and love the site, wish I'd heard of it earlier.

So, I've been seeing these glitches in lightbox with my browser and I'm wondering what in the world they are.... They appear as two random white boxes that don't do anything... When I look at the source code, they don't seem to appear in there either... It's weird. So I went back to Failr which also has a lightbox feature to compare (to see if it's my browser) and I don't get the same result -- lightbox is clean and all black there. So, I took a screen grab of the issue with lightbox here for the staff here to have a look at (clickable):



The photo itself is supposed to be washed out (I applied a layer over it so it wouldn't detract from the elements in question).... Lest you think that's an issue.

I do apologize if this is the wrong place to post this -- I'm not familiar enough yet with the site to find the "bugs" log.

I've been moving my stuff from flickr, have bought a club account, but now just get told I've reached my quota for the month, and can't upload an ything else.
What is the monthly quota for club members ?

At ipernity there wasn´t a quota for clubs. Just for a single file which couldn´t be larger than 500 MB each.

This is true, but if you post a comment in any social platform you post it under the TOS of that community and the data belongs to this community. Otherwise it would be possible to build, say a facebook app, that collects data visible to the user using the app and leak them to public. For shure you would now be a little bit astonished to find your protected comment in another place, no? For shure the legal consequences are quite complicated and might not be very clear, but concering your photo it is quite clear that this is your property without any discussion.

Signed on today, paid my subscription and painlessly transferred images from flickr using the batch transfer; as my granddaughter would say 'seamless', so thanks and looking forward to Ipernity. Also, added Ipernity for Android to my tablet, again seamless'.
