2022 World Photography Day - random pick - by angelique

Dear members and friends of ipernity,

1) World Photography Day.
Our event on August 19, 2022 was a joyous success. Over 50 members participated. With photographs from Austria to Australia, from Poland to Peru - over 12 countries are represented - truly a World event!! Contributions can be viewed in the group World Photography Day.
If you have interest in how the event will be run next year, please add to the discussion in the group here.

2) Clouds.
For our cloud loving members, you may be interested to know that there is a Memory Cloud Atlas online. Perhaps it will inspire one of our cloud groups to create an event about clouds.

3) In memoria.
Our members are the heart and soul of our club. When one of them has passed away it is with great sorrow that we receive the news.

We now have a group In memoria where we can remember and honor those who have been a part of our community but are no longer with us. Note that this new item has been added to the footer of each page for easy access by everyone.

Great info about World Photography Day. It's so encouraging to see the participation. :) Also the "In Memoria" group is a great addition since our site is like a family which sets us apart from every other site and those who pass deserve to be remembered as we miss them.

The two groups "World Photography Day" and "In memoria" are, in my opinion too, a nice and sensible way to keep both the memory and the motivation (already generated by many other groups) of our community alive.
I am grateful and touched for these initiatives which emanate directly from the mindset of us members.
As for the clouds, it is true that this is an important part of photography and it deserved, I think, such recognition!

Merci pour l'initiative..C'est toujours un plaisir de commémorer des événements aussi importants. Étant un site de partage de photographies il est impératif d'honorer la journée mondiale de la photographie.
Le groupe Memoria est très symbolique de par son attention de ne pas oublier ceux et celles qui ne sont plus là et qui pourtant ont partagé de belles photos et de bons souvenirs mémorables.

Komt er nog nieuws/update over de 'problemen' met nieuwe uploads ??

Al langere tijd verschijnen nieuwe uploads bij "Ontdekken > Nieuw > Nieuwe foto's en video's" met (grote) vertraging. Zo werd mijn laatste upload van vanmorgen pas 7 uur later zichtbaar, hjoewel een half uur later de foto weer is verdwenen !!). Vergelijkbaar traag (lijkt iets minder erg) worden nieuwe uploads zichtbaar onder "Jouw contacten: wat is nieuw?". Gevolg is ook dat de foto's in "Galerij" allemaal 'oud' zijn (geupload 16 oktober of nog eerder). Alleen bij "Groepen" lijken de nieuwe uploads wel direct zichtbaar.

Alles bij elkaar niet bepaald 'reclame' voor Ipernity !!

Thank you for pointing this out, Jaap. We don't have an explanation for these delays yet, but we are investigating the matter. Further detail in next Club News.

I can confirm the observation Jaap made. In the past, the pictures appeared very quickly in 'Explore/New', now the time delay is approximately 45 minutes. Perhaps a stack is full that is not automatically emptied by the cronjob, which could cause the executing script to continue only after a timeout?
