Dear members and friends of ipernity!
1) With respect to all comments concerning the scheduled frontpage redesign we present you a revised edition today. We tried to follow the majorities as well as we tried to respect the minorities. You'll find the release below. Furthermore we've created a group for the pictures, which you are invited to submit for the new frontpage.
The new release: www.ipernity.com/doc/team/45978350
The group: www.ipernity.com/group/2341904
2) Even if several users prefer a dark background for photo applications, the majority doesn't. Therefore we decided to pursue the paperwhite version. All those who like to have black background, and use Firefox browser, can try to install 'Dark Skin CSS for Firefox' by Spotomy: www.ipernity.com/doc/2319670/45872248
3) To accommodate all free users who are considering a club membership, we offer three EXTRA months of membership on a 6 month subscription without charge, so you get 9 months for the price of 6 months if you sign up as a club member until the end of the Christmas Season (Epiphany, Jan. 06th, 2018). For details see here: www.ipernity.com/doc/2319670

previous team had proposed we could choose individually between 3 versions, white, medium grey and black. It was to be done but never came.
Is there any technical dificulty in doing so? I do not know, I dont understand anything about programming...
I use apple products so the firefox issue is not for me. This does eally disappoint me a great lot.
Anyhow thanks for the efforts and for keeping us alive here.
Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Xata clubSpotomy told that for example Chrome and IE stopped supporting client side styles. But I have had no time to check what is the case with Safari and Opera. But we can find ways also together ;-)
Bergfex club has replied to Xata clubThe "previous team" doesn't exist any longer . . .!
We all - the whole community - are the "team" now!
When our financial power will be robust enough . . ., someday . . ., we may perform long desired wishes. But at the moment we're already happy about a stable operation and very little steps like the proposed one. Keep in mind please: Programming new features needs a lot of money!
Furthermore: Firefox is availbale for Apple, too: itunes.apple.com/at/app/internet-browser-firefox/id989804926?mt=8
Xata club has replied to Sami Serola (inactiv… clubThis occured the year flickr changed its look and a lot of people fled from there to ipernity... and its white frontpage and photopage. I personnaly prefer flickrs view on black, I think photos get added value to be presented on black. We have the option view on black which I use... but it is not the same.
I have a flickr account but do not interact with members or groups there, for me it would be like buying in a huje megamarket. I just post and go.
My interaction with people is here and will be, white page or not.
Thanks Sami
Xata club has replied to Bergfex clubI just mentionned the previous because the way they presented the possibility for one to choose its paperback colour seemed an easy thing...
In the old version of ipernity we had the possibility to compose our presentation page, use one of our photos as background instead of the white one, we could choose our police type and colours... it was very funny, personal and happylooking.
The "team" erased this one day without advising all members with a mail or message... and one morning opening our page all was simply gone. You can imagine how most of us felt... our personal page meant a lot of work and thinking and was simply gone. Erased.
I am sorry I dont have any screenprint of what it was then to give you an idea...
I know firefox is avaible for Apple, but I am not keen on adding it, I really avoid what can complicate my use of the computer as I am not really a tecnician and...
Thanks anyhow for all you are doing, all of you.
I go on being available for what I can do to help.
With a little break for a few weeks, I am going to have eyes surgery...
Team club has replied to Xata clubI undestand your complaints Christophe didn't act customer-friendly always. But it's history. We as a self-determined community of members have to look into the future now: What are our wishes today, what for tomorrow, what is affordable. Christophe transferred this website 'as it is'. For every single alteration we have to pay with hard money.

Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Xata clubI would test it myself, if I would have Apple and Safari.
Xata club has replied to Sami Serola (inactiv… clubBergfex club has replied to Xata club2) download the 2 files from Spotomy
3) follow the guidelines given by Spotomy

The earlier version on Spotomy's own blog may not work because the Stylish plugin may not work:
www.ipernity.com/blog/spo/4655884
Therefore Spotomy and I decided to give "manual instructions" for client side CSS installation.
ୱ Kiezkickerde ( ͡°… club has replied to Xata clubA suggestion how you can get your black background: osxdaily.com/2016/06/03/customize-safari-reader-appearance-ios (I dont know much about apple and so on, is the reader something like an extension or something like that? Anyway, it should be possible to set the background of each page like you want in some way)
Xata club has replied to ୱ Kiezkickerde ( ͡°… clubStep by step we are going forward !!
Only finished and formatted images in landscape format 1220x680px are suitable. The upper right part of the image should not affect the readability of the ipernity caption.
I disagree with this criteria.. While most of my images are landscape Some of my favorite images are profile formats. There are good reasons for this choice. For example this image
www.ipernity.com/doc/tess.mckenna/38082438/in/album/329613 and this image
www.ipernity.com/doc/tess.mckenna/24171257/in/album/342079 had to be taken in portrait to prevent unwanted neighboring subjects which were to close to the main intended subject. I would appreciate your input here.
While I have joined this group. Should this criteria stand it would not be suitable to me not to be able to post the above type of images.
Team club has replied to Treasa Ui CionaodhaThe major purpose of any frontpage is advertising! The eye-catchers have to fit into a given frame, predetermined by the design. If they don't, they have to be adapted by an ageny, which will cost hard money.
Perhaps you might launch into that matter from a completely different starting point: Regard it as a challenge to create pictures, which will fit to the function which they have to fulfill.
Treasa Ui Cionaodha has replied to Team clubSo the upshot is your New Frontpage group does not suit me with you set criteria. So I decided to leave it and continue with the Groups I am a member of.
Team club has replied to dgmphoto clubYes, of course!
Perhaps you might help?
(After 7 days with >12 hours for ima - with an enormous time pressure to manage everything until the disclosure this morning - I need a little break now.)
Bernhard (ima)
dgmphoto club has replied to Team clubConcerning the discussion about the backgrund, which is blazing up again: Perhaps it might be helpful to keep in mind, that we are not discussing a relaunch of the whole website here and now!
This welcome site isn't the working area from all of you normally! It's major function is to act as an advertising site for visitors from the whole worldwide web. As most of them use mobiles or tablets for a first visit, the white background is more convenient.
We understand the desire to individualize the background. And we don't know the reason, why Christiophe delimited the possibilities in 2013. Somehow or other we haven't any idea about the amount of efforts to change it retroactive. Maybe it's a quick fix only, but perhaps it's an extensive rework.
As desirable all improvements of the existing site might be: At the very moment we only (and urgently) need (1) this welcome site as our new "store" sign, followed by (2) a press release to give a signal to the world, that ipernity is still alive! Everything else is of less priority.
Bernhard (ima)
That question cannot bei answered at the moment, as the membership types are not yet discussed completely. That issue will be regarded deeper again next year. I'll keep your aspect in mind.
I have left the group and re-joined, to no avail.
Anyone else have this problem?
What's the answer?
TIA (thanks in anticipation!!)
Rob.
Don't try to post using Organize. Just Open your photo you wish to add to a Group. Select Add to group (Beside Actions option. Looks like 3 persons and a green background + sign. ) and there you can select any group you wish to post too. Hope this helps.

However has anybody considered having several versions that change month by month in the same way as a very slow Screen saver?
Bergfex club has replied to Stormlizard clubNow we are curious about your contributes!
Do you remember, that a huge majority agreed to use pictures from members for the new ipernity frontpage?
Meanwhile a group has been established and first content has been collected: www.ipernity.com/group/2341904
Now the time is near to start the programming of this frontpage. What we need now is some help to assort the content of this group and to accomodate the pictures for their intended use.
The group needs an active administrator.
Please help!
