Hello folks just a quick update. I hope those of you who had company enjoyed the celebrations and I hope you solos had a good a day as I did. I wasn't really a solo yesterday, I visited Stephen and Gemma yesterday morning to exchange gifts. Carl was working so he wasn't around. Stephen bought me a bottle of Glenfiddich single malt 15year old whisky, the only scotch worth drinking is a single malt over 10 years old so this suited me just fine. Gemma and Carl bought me a presentation box containing a half bottle of whisky a packet of Italian coffee and a stainless steel flask clad in the famous Harris Teed. A cracking present for my early spring walks, that is if the weather and my old body go easy on me. I also got a great lighter from Jenny,it is double function with the standard lighter and a turbo alongside it. A good piece of kit for lighting the briar outside. She also gave me a fridge magnet to add to my slowly growing collection. I have had to start again because a large bag of them I moved to the spare room during the refurb is now buried somewhere under Ellen's stuff.
Back home from my visit I spent a pleasant day reading and listening to music before my very tasty roast dinner followed by Christmas pudding and a glass of brandy. Jenny skyped me and we chatted for a few moments which gave me time to say hello to Mandi and before I knew it I was summoned to Stephen's again. I caught up with Carl now home from work and the 4 of us had a good old natter and I sunk some of Stephens beer. Gemma then gave me the best news I have had this Christmas, she is pregnant again. I just hope all goes well this time. I hung around for a while to see Arron who was up at Dalton with his parents and he joined the conversation, he is a very pleasant lad who dotes on Gemma and has alway been completely at ease with us all.
Then it was time for Carl to go off to meet his friends and I returned home to the havoc creating felines who were tearing around the house like things possessed. All in all a very good day topped off to perfection when Jenny called on Skype for our nightly chat. I drank a beer and a brandy while chatting to her, had a few words with Mandi before she went to bed and spent a while before bed relaxing,at peace with my little corner of the world. Time for lunch I will have a good catch up on here soon. Stay safe and happy people

I wrote an article about my day.
Stay warm and safe.
John.
Some nice gifts; my Grandfather loved Glenfiddich too.
