Three doors down from me there is a young mother abandoned by her husband who is struggling to bring up a severely handicapped child. He has learning difficulties and it is nigh on impossible to communicate with him. He was on the settee sleeping a short while ago while his mother went upstairs. When she returned a little black cat called Sooty was snuggled up to him and both were fast asleep. The youngster and the cat have made an instant bond and Sooty even goes into the toddlers little sensory room with him to play which delights the boys mother of course and the friendship seems to be doing the baby good into the bargain.He even tries hard to talk to his mother telling her to give the cat some ham.or am as he calls it. A nice story to start the day I think.
