I looked out on the garden this morning to see if anything could be saved from this barren year.
The grass needs a trim to tidy it up which it will get later,at the end of the path is where the newly discovered frog lives so that will remain undisturbed until back end. The rest is a total failure, what in the past has been a wildflower patch looking like this.
Now looks like this.
I have no idea why so many seeds failed to germinate it can only have been our truly terrible spring and summer of rain. Oddly enough on the other side of the path the fruit bushes and rhubarb have done very well and gave me a lot of fruit to barter with.
I am resigned to the fact that this year's blaze of colour is not going to happen now,it will soon be back end and time to turn the ground ready for the spring, maybe I will have to think of a few more ideas for the patch.
Whatever happened to a bale of towels ?
