Last night Sooty and Zazzles alerted me to something in the garden,I went to look expecting to see the local feline bruiser padding about but instead I spotted a dark familiar shape. It was the return of Hedgy hedgehog. He is later than last year maybe the recent spell of good weather has keep him roaming. I fed him with cat food and gave him some fresh water. It's good to have him back. This morning it was cold and dreary but about lunch time the sun finally broke through so I was off into the garden. I planted some Iris bulbs which should give we a nice block of colour by June. Next a donned my boots and new gauntlets put on a pair of goggles and set to removing the first Gooseberry bush. It was hard back-aching work which took me an hour. My next job was to check the bushes along the back wall for signs of Hedgy but it is pretty clear of vegetation so not suitable for a base camp. I guess he is either round the side of the house or has set up camp in John's garden. There are more places to build there but not good for feeding. I will check each bush as a take it down of course and if he does move in all work will stop and I will have a little rough patch just for him
