Yesterday I was sitting in my lounge cutting out some material for my next soft toy, when I heard a thump on the window. Now I'm sort of getting used to hearing things go bump in this house, because I really need to get the outside painted and of course with the seagulls still determined to nest in amongst my chimneys, they often throw down various stuff from last year's nest. Well Pippin, who had been snoozing next to me on the couch, suddenly leapt up and shot over to the window.

I followed, only gingerly, not really wanting to find out what had fallen off this time, when I spotted a rather dazed blackbird (hen) in the shrubbery under my window....

Poor little thing - he certainly looked as if he was thinking "what the hell happened there?" He sat there for about 5 minutes, which allowed me time to grab my camera - I left it in good hands - Pippin was keeping a watchful eye on the proceedings....

The little bird started to make his way across the shrubbery, but he did struggle a bit..

He tried out his wings and after a while, he seemed satisfied and managed to hop onto the bench ....

As you can see - he's looking slightly bedraggled, he was probably looking around to see if anyone had seen him going into the window - oh yes I saw a mark on the window pane, so he'd bumped into it. Anyway he eventually flew off, but I should think he had a headache for a while!!!
