Manfred Mann's Earth Band (Manfred Mann, Mick Rogers, Chris Thomposon, Trevor Rabin and John Lingwood) aka Manfred Mann aka Manfred Mann Chapter Three recorded "The Runner" (Thomas) featuring the lead vocals of Chris Thompson in 1984. It peaked in the number twenty-two position. The single became an album track on the U.S. Release "Somewhere in Afrika". Here is the album version.
