About TimC

Tim C
From: Bromley, Kent
A Flickr refugee, now in a pleasant place.
When it comes to taking photographs, I more or less know what end of a camera to point at the subject and which button to click with. Thankfully, most cameras nowadays have an auto setting making the art of photography a bit of a doddle. So, if there's a camera to hand and a scene or an object or place takes my fancy then it's pointed at and clicked. Simple.
Occupation: Almost retired from duckin' n divin'
Place of residence: Hayling Island, United Kingdom

Interests:
Well, most things interest me; photography of course, but not in any serious way. However, I do collect old photographs, albums, negatives, slides, cdv's (carte de visite) etc., at a guess, my collection now runs to probably 50,000 items.
Motor racing, I used to be a big fan of F1 but the last few years has seen my interest dwindle, probably because of the predictability of the sport and that the drivers can't truly race the cars because of 'tyre management', fuel limits, rev limitations. Maybe this season (2014) with the new rules, engine size and car specifications things will improve. There's hope anyway.
Favorite music and artists:
Country and rock, mostly from an era when real music was made by real people with real talent.
Favorite movies and actors:
Many varied tastes but I'm not a lover of films with special effects that go beyond the realms of plausibility. I like good TV drama, The Killing, The Bridge, The Sopranos, ER.... and don't laugh....I do watch Neighbours (blush)
Favorite books and authors:
I read quite a lot of fiction, detective, romance, fictional biographies, suspense.... I can't quite put a name to the style I like nor to any particular author but if a book's title, cover and synopsis has a certain appeal, I'll then start reading.
