About autofantasia club

From: Kilmarnock, Scotland
If you find the username a bit of a mouthful then try calling me Paul ... seems to work in the real world okay!
What else can I tell you ... self confessed petrol head who admires but doesn't have the skills to tinker much with old cars.
Married with no kids, but two cute and loveable rescue dogs.
Why am I here? Well, I've created this profile primarily to share the images I've taken, and continue to take, at car shows around the UK and hope others will enjoy looking at my work.
I say work, but I'm really just an enthusiastic amateur running around with a Nikon D90 snapping what catches my eye ... and that usually involves wheels of one kind or another.
Having said that, I do increasingly find myself shooting other subjects, especially since I joined The Sunday Challenge group here on ipernity. For those non-automotive shots I tend to mark my images as PD Photography so as not to dilute the autofantasia brand if you like.
I upload most of my photos at around 1920 x 1280 as I think that provides the best balance between getting quick uploads whilst still letting people see good quality images.
I regard everything I take as copyright so please don't 'steal' my images. By all means do leave comments and feel free to add my photos to your favourites, but if you want to use them elsewhere please get in touch first.
I'd be happy in most cases to provide larger copies in return for a credit in whatever blog or publication you'd like to use them in so don't be scared to contact me.
I'd also love to hear from anyone in North Yorkshire, or anywhere in the North of England for that matter, who has a car or a bike etc., they'd like me to photograph. If that's you please get in touch and let's try and get something organised. Like I say I'm just an enthusiastic amateur, but I think you'd be happy with any photos I took on your behalf.
Anyway, enough rambling. Thanks for taking the time to visit and read my profile.
Regards
PAUL
P.S. Please don't post awards, graphics or group links in comments as these will be deleted. Thanks!
Favorite music and artists:
So hard to be pinned down on this as I'm one of those old farts who say "I like anything that's good as long as it has a good tune" - what ever that means!
Growing up as a kid and ten a teenager I was heavily influenced by my parents taste so was really into the great rock 'n' roll masters of the Fifties and early Sixties.
So I was a huge fan of Elvis Presley, Bill Haley, Little Richard, etc. and this saw me through into the early Eighties when we had a sort of rock 'n' roll revival period here in the UK and I started to buy records by the likes of Shakin' Stevens, Darts, Showaddywaddy, Matchbox and the Stray Cats to name but a few.
Dig into my record collection (yes I still have my original vinyl) and you'll find all of that plus stuff from a host of others including Ultravox, Dire Straits and Staus Quo.
Nowadays if I buy a CD or something off iTunes it might be by more recent acts like Michael Buble, Paolo Nutini or Adele. So like I say it's a bit of a mixed bag.
Favorite movies and actors:
Too many to list, but if you're talking those with an automotive angle then it has to be John Carpenter's original interpretation of Stephen King's "Christine" and "American Graffiti" ... both have cool cars and a great soundtrack.
Other than that I'm a sucker for action movies and sci-fi films plus some of the better super hero films of recent times like "The Dark Knight".
Favorite books and authors:
Never been a regular reader, but I do go through phases and when I do James Patterson and Jeffery Deaver are the two I tend to go for.
