One of the old headbands was lost so I made new ones by shaping pared leather around a core of thick cotton tape. I gilt them to fit the aesthetics of the original block. veterokforbooks.tumblr.com

A not-so-rare family Bible from 1890, which came to me in four pieces. The owner of this book placed most importance on having a functional Bible with its covers intact, and I was to decide the rest. The size and style of this book made it more sensible to make a new cover instead of piecing the old parts together. The cover was constructed of thick, shaped boards on which I fashioned dyed reindeer leather. Lovely illustrated Bible from 1890 that I am repairing. Not very old, but still interesting. Also it weighs 6-7 kilograms.
