Back in August 2021 I posted some images of my Japanese geisha doll, given away as a promotional exercise with Minolta SR1 cameras back in the early 1960s - which was when I bought mine (see PiP).
Over the years, Miss Minolta had lost her umbrella, but when she saw the images my lovely ipernity friend Pam J offered to make one for her. After various postage problems (covid related), the new umbrella arrived yesterday and both Miss Minolta and I are delighted and send Pam big huggss.

My first SLR camera, a Minolta SR-1 purchased new in the early 1960s. As a promotional gift, the camera came with a free Japanese geisha doll on a base with a Minolta plaque. It seems this must have been a very limited promotion, because I have been unable to find any other images of one of these dolls. A slightly late image for World Photography Day.
Another image of the geisha doll in the clickable PiP.

Can anybody read Japanese? I'd love to know what is written on her bag.

Long ago in the 1960s, when I purchased my first Minolta SR1, with it as a gift came a Japanese doll standing about 250mm high and "Minolta" on the base. Does anyone else remember these? When I was testing a SMC Pentax FA 100mm F2.8 Macro lens, it seemed an appropriate subject.
Addendum: I now have included a note (at top right) showing a full image of the doll.
