"...the wreck is located on the remote and isolated Solheimasandur beach, a difficult one-hour walk from the closest parking area on the Ring Road..."

"The signs say to keep off the plane, but that's for other people. We're special. Cheese!"

The wrecked US Navy DC-3 on the Sólheimasandur beach.
I lucked into about 30 seconds in which there was nobody inside the plane or sticking their heads in from outside.

"Don't mind me. I have a drone: that authorizes me to monopolize your tourist spot for twenty minutes while I capture attention-whoring video for my Instathot channel."
(Of course I'm exaggerating. If it was really for an Instathot channel, she'd have taken her clothes off.)

Yes, the isolated wreck on the remote beach that's difficult to find and to get to.

A remarkably close approximation of a scene from a Mars-themed story I wrote.
After expecting from everything I'd read that it was going to take an hour each way to walk to this remote site, I was (I'll admit) relieved that there is actually a bus service at the parking lot. Downside: lots of stupid, obnoxious tourists who otherwise wouldn't have bothered to visit.
