Looking back up (northeast) Jokuldalur. The river running through the valley, into which all the waterfalls ran, is the same river that feeds the Karanjukahr Dam.

Fixing the Explorer -- we discovered on the third day that we had the Explorer that the left rear door didn't lock. But, it was nothing an inexpensive come-along strap routed under the seats couldn't fix. Somehow, my daypack and camera equipment ended up behind the driver's seat, where it was only accessible by reaching across Kurt's hiking stuff on the passenger's side. Funny how that happened...
