On the morning clouds over Brienzersee

Panorama of Brienzersee, taken from the balcony of my hotel room with the pano function on my tablet. Not as good as a pano stitched together from a bunch of 16MP RAW-format images, but not bad. And a lot less work.

The hotel was interesting. Apart from a couple concessions to building codes (a fire door on the stairway, for example), the Victorian woodwork and such in the public areas were essentially unchanged from when it was built a century ago. Should have gotten some pictures of the doors downstairs - very impressive. Amusingly, the profuse kitsch made it like visiting the home of a stereotypical grandmother of the 1950s - a well-preserved single-owner Victorian mansion stuffed to the picture rails with an eight-decade-long collection of knick-knacks. Each with its own crocheted doily.
