this woman has been gracing our downtown for years, classing up the place viewable due to an open parking lot. now construction has begun on a building in that parking lot, but i'm happy to see that it looks like they are at least going to preserve the art. unknown how visible it will be in the end. credit to the muralist: Created by Faith47, one of the most famous female street and graffiti artists in the world. Entitled “Capax Infiniti” (“Holding the Infinite” in Latin), the South African muralist painted this beautiful piece showing a ghost-like woman with her back turned to us.” — Street Art News and Wikipedia. [I put a PIP with a link to someone's photo of this art work before construction began - worth seeing! - for some reason the PIP doesn't show the image directly, but it does link to the right place if you click on it.] May have been installed in 2014 or thereabouts.

the east side of portland has seen a growing number of murals and street art over the last few years. this one has been around for awhile. it is still my favorite on the east side, though there are many contenders these days.
