A member of a falconry group, with a hand-reared owl, promoting their services in Eastbourne Street Market.

This handsome bird of prey was photographed during a falconry display by The Haven Falconry, on the Isle of Wight. The presentation was inspired by a style used by SYLDERO which I spotted in Explore. I have used a simplified version which I think suits the subject. Thanks SYLDERO!

The owl is, I think, a White Faced Scops Owl, Ptilopsis granti, from the Haven Falconry Centre on the Isle of Wight. The background was created from a photo of clouds, taken from our garden, that had very narrow stripes running horizontally together with more standard wispy layers. The stripes can be seen in the lower right of the background layer. As the image wasn't really that striking, I started playing about with it and then needed something to put in the middle and this little owl seemed to fit the bill.
