Six photos - Each has a PiP in upper Left corner - Bees and Butterflies are sharing the rest of pollen and nectar - But - White Lilac doesn't bloom this time of year - With the very warm temperatures, it must be confused - Then, look a the middle bottom - A Zinnia - Planted an entire package of seeds - This is the first and only one seen - Oh, Nature can confuse this human - © All Rights Reserved

Joy ! Yellow Gold ! Thank you, OK ! Skipper butterfly has discovered the False Sunflowers (Heliopsis helianthoides) under the Dogwood trees - She flitted back and forth from one to another - Checking - Is this one as good as the last one - Got to go back and check - One thing I've learned (from the exhausting days of butterfly chasing) - They return to where you saw them - So, stay put - You scattered the seeds - They have started to come - Just have camera ready to shoot ! Oklahoma refers to Pam J who lives in a very remote part of that State - she gifted me with the first seeds - Since they self-seed - All one really needs to do is enjoy (unless you want to send seeds to another Soul to enjoy) Seeds have gone to Diane and also to my niece - about 15 min. away --- No photos.... yet © All rights reserved * 1 PiP in each left corner * -- EXPLORE --

Colors out front .. Starting to become scarce as are the butterflies .. Only saw the Skipper on the False Sunflower .. There was a Painted Lady who didn't remain for her photo-session .. while this computer was at Doc B's .. photos were taken here and next door .. it was as though I was missing something .. yes, the habit of going to my computer .. I don't tend to miss something .. until I can't have it .. . THEN - I can think of 100's of reason why I really do need it .. when my car was in the shop .. could think of all these places I really needed to go .. Mr C said, "drive my car.." I drove around the block .. gave him the keys back .. "what's wrong?" asked Mr C .. me - it is too low ( I have a CR-V ) that is up higher .. and the brake - you have to have your foot on the brake to start the car ! if you have a Mazda, you know what I mean .. that is weird .. at least to me, so I walked around the yard .. searching for photos .. Found these Swallowtails .. Dark one next door and the Yellow in our garden .. we've had an abundance of Skippers .. and the Zinnias are still bloomin' ! but, all is good .. got some needed things off the external hard drive .. helps very much .. and -- thank you PJ for the Adobe link :) © All Rights Reserved

A Long-tailed Skipper [ (Urbanus proteus) ] .. Know they are in North Carolina .. But, usually East of the Piedmont where I am .. I get the Carolina Leps ( Lepidoptera ) newsletter with butterfly counts by county .. Still can't find this one in any count .. When I first joined Carolina Leps, I commented to a fellow that I had trouble with ID-ing Skippers .. He urged me that it was possible ! This one .. Not a problem at all .. But, the Thread-waisted wasp .. Had to look that one up (new for me) .. And the other critter on the right .. No clue.. Lots of them around though. Taking advantage of the sunshine .. On yellow False Sunflowers and Buddleja davidii .. Skippers - Crescent and a Cabbage White .. Was planning to post another red Day Lily bloom .. But .. During the night, somebody ate it .. Sigh .. There is one left .. Am tempted to camp out tonight and keep guard over it ! But, it is raining again ..
