It certainly pays to keep records -- The Eastern Swallowtail butterfly has been in counties all around us -- Knew our time was getting near -- So, last year on July 5, 2016 -- The first one appeared ( but an hour later ) -- Today -- One ETS -- Eastern Tiger Swallowtail -- In the yard -- Along with Carpenter bees and Skippers -- And the elusive Hummingbird ! What a great start for the day -- ** 4 notes ** © All Rights Reserved

From The North Carolina Native Plant website: Scientific Name: Lilium superbum Common Name: Turk's Cap Lily Lily : Family Liliaceae Native/ Perennial -- It is either great blooms -- or none .. During a dry year - we get leaves... We have had more than usual amount of rain, so Lil is hanging in there. So, pardon me .. I'm going out to sit with her to make sure she knows I am enjoying her orange beauty ~ © All Rights Reserved ** 2 notes ** Not ignoring the American Lady (who was visiting my neighbor) and the Skipper .. that I hope PamJ can tell me his name ... I've turned the pages of Kaufman Field Guide to Butterflies of North American until my fingers need a rest ~
