In a new apartment re-purposed from Oneida Cotton Mill .. Taken from across the street .. Haze gives a mysterious look to a regular ceiling fan .. So many things are going on .. Inside and out .. Workers are up on lifts .. Making touches to the exterior .. Workers inside have lights on .. In back, the widows were raised .. Letting a breeze in from the courtyard .. . Welcome Home to all .. Around Oneida Lofts Apartments - The Fence has been removed - This is in the area where most materials / equipment have been seen in the series - When I looked, at first I couldn't figure out what was different - Then - Wham ! The fence is gone ! Work is going just about round the clock - Movable outside lights - Noticed the other day - Grading is underway - That this 100+ yr old mill is being re-furbished - Makes my heart SING - This is a small town, but the people are wonderful - Just ask Pam J - She has met some in her visits ! - 1 note from March 2015 -

Found a spot across the street - There are so many workers around - Finding a spot to take photos is getting harder - Window are being installed on both levels - Kitchen cabinets seen - Industrial type light for Kitchen, also - Brickwork being touched up in places - Could sit there all day and watch this 100+ year old mill - Become Apartments - Old becomes New again - © All Rights Reserved 2 notes

Took from 2013 to 2015 for all documents to be signed off to qualify as a Historical Building.. Work began in Jan. 2016 .. These shots are from the 'Rapunzel Tower' side only .. Windows that had been bricked over are open to light .. A/C and Heating has been installed .. It is still a very busy place .. 25 Sept 2016 Update She might be old, but being put to new use as apartments. Oneida Cotton Mills was built in the late 1800s - After so many textile companies left North Carolina, she sat idle - This is a small town, but they seem to try to re-hab as much as possible - The Holt Family was well-known in the textile industry The Arts Center and a current bank once were homes built by Edwin Holt for his daughters. An album -- ReHab of Oneida Cotton Mills -- takes you through digital documentation starting in 2013. These100+yr old buildings are getting new life .. Yes, will do my best to bring weekly updates .. But, should something totally fantastic happen in-between .. from the Historic Oneida Cotton Mills - into apartments - Rehab Builders has a website - check out some of the other works they have done - not met them, but they put to use all they can - this is a 'feel good' collage for me - not in my backyard - but my small town - believes in preserving the history it can - shall keep the photos coming - if you look at the Album - Historic Buildings - you can see photos from 2013 - and later following the changes - © All Rights Reserved photos from 2013 [while permits were still being pulled] - to 2016 - much has changed, yet the History will remain

- saw this area but wasn't sure it was one of the Oneida buildings - found out that it most certainly is, so found a spot to park and take photos - the process of turning a Mill, over 100yrs old into apartments - fascinating © All Rights Reserved

only vines with thorns are permitted - all others - stay out - this fence is around the Oneida Cotton Mills property - all 6.8 acres - the Winston-Salem NC company is supposed to start on re-furbishing - re-purposing the large, over 100 yr old mill - into apartments - the exterior was started last year - things halted for awhile - then, the roof over loading docks - weak from a leak already - collapsed under the weight of 9 inches of snow - there is just something about this angle - that when I look at it - there might as well be a sign 6feet high and 6feet wide- it stops me - (c) All Rights Reserved
