Bloomin' yellow...

allamanda is a very hardy plant; blooms about 10 months out of the year.. what more could anyone want ? if it gets cold enough to freeze back, it survives and grows back better than before.. my kind of plant.. don't water it.. don't fertilize it.. once in a while prune it if getting too big.. love it... and so do butterflies & bees ! © All rights reserved

Climbing a camphor...

30 Jul 2009 214
taken from my driveway, the very large camphor tree next door, welcomes children to climb... have 'pretend' games & just have fun ! the branch at bottom left goes over the street.. there was a fellow who used to trim it.. he was a "tree artist".. would walk all around the tree.. then go down the street & look back before making any decisions to trim.. that tree needs him.. we just don't know where he moved ! © All rights reserved

Caladiums .. SOOC "Caladiums add color and beauty to all of your creative planting beds and gardens. Enhance sidewalks and driveways with a splash of reds, pinks, or whites. Maybe a colorful mixed batch of our very best caladium bulbs to brighten a shady spot in your yard. Caladiums are easy to plant, easy to care for, easy to store. " - from Caladiums Florida --------------------------------------------------- .. from Wikipedia "Caladiums grow from corms and can be propagated by dividing the tubers. They are hardy only to USDA plant hardiness zone 10; in colder areas, they are typically grown as tender bulbs or as houseplants. During their growing season, they require moderate watering (damp, not soggy). Most varieties prefer partial to full shade, although sun-resistant varieties are now in cultivation. Approximately 98% of all caladium bulbs are from Lake Placid, Florida, in the United States. In recent years many new varieties have become available through breeding and are now largely disease resistant. The bulk of bulb production is sold to pot producers who in turn provide your local nursery outlets with potted caladiums ready for immediate planting. Most of the bulb growers also sell direct retail via websites, shipping of bulbs takes place in the spring when temperatures permit (bulbs are subject to damage if temps too low). In temperate areas, they should be lifted before the first frost. The corms are dried and stored for the winter when temperatures fall to 65 °F (18 °C), and stored moderately dry (not bone-dry) over the winter at temperatures between 56 °F (13 °C) and 61 °F (16 °C)." ** so, this means you can't always believe what you read .. these plants have been moved several times; we are NOT in Zone 10. If they freeze.. that's life. If they return, cool ! Do not baby-sit these at all .. don't even water them.. they depend on the rain for a drink. No, I have no green thumb ! ** (c)All Rights Reserved

Momordica charantia .. thanks to scott.zona for the ID ! a weed... but a colorful one ! ..located in Central Florida US ..is invasive ..the 'orange lantern' seems to be either a seed pod / fruit ..tropical / warm weather... dies off after autumn ..will grow anywhere in one's yard.. ..digging roots out seems to slow progress, but if you miss one of those orange things.. tough ! ..haven't seen birds or squirrels around them ..the leaf in the foreground belongs to this vine.. 5 lobes, I think © All rights reserved
