..our guide at the New River Zoo ..located in Fleetwood NC ..the website below gives a very interesting account of how and by whom this unique place is cared for... .. Miccah, the German Shepherd, was our guide & would come back periodically to "see if we needed assistance" .. wonderful 'employee', Keith ! -- there was a New River Zoo Ashe County NC video on YouTube; it was taken in 2008. When we visited the zoo, there were no 'big cats'; the County forced Keith to remove them because of the stupidity of one person. If you go over the fences between you and a wild animal - what should you expect ? Well, this person was injured .. so, the 'big cats' had to be taken from this zoo. Don't know what happened to the link put in here, but when just checked, it was in a foreign language, so it has been removed. © All rights reserved
