Farewell Green Soul . . Day 3

26 Jun 2010 202
The Cherry Laurel in the back yard, even though pruned and cared for, has been losing large branches .. it really needed to be planted with Oak companions instead of standing alone to fend for itself all these many years .. breezes, shade and filtered sun through your arms will be missed .. the Mourning Doves will miss visiting .. I will explain to them .. how can one get attatched to a tree ? just know that it saddens me that Cherry L is gone .. even though another tree will be planted, suitable for this area .. it will not replace your green footprints and those gentle, wispy, breezy hugs . . .. black bench outside a recreation center .. like the red next to it and shrubs behind .. But..... then I saw him ! .. said he would move over and share the space .. this bench is for waiting .. children waiting for parents to pick them up after swimming .. many recreational activities after school, so these are very utilitarian benches .. the red ? .. think it might be for trash, but did not get out and inspect it ! ©SD All Rights Reserved

Arrived .. To carry out their part in Nature...

14 Dec 2009 168
only two of multiple vultures .. arrived for the road-kill .. it was there on Saturday night .. still there on Sunday, so they came in to do what they are designed to do ... fascinating creatures and the part they play in Nature .. although they soar, white feathers showing as they glide above .. when they get down here, not handsome at all .. -- from Vultures in Florida "The black vulture is approximately twenty-two inches in height and weighs 3.8 to 5.1 pounds. Its wingspan is approximately fifty-four inches and the bird is a dull black. It can be distinguished by wrinkles that cover the head and face, it has white tips on the each wing, the tips of their bills are grayish in color, the legs are a whitish color, have rounded tails, and their feet extend past their tails during flight." © All rights reserved
