During the peak of the Nike SAFEGUARD there were between 3 and 4,000 employees. After WW2 ended, the Western Electric Company took over the plant, which was still a government-owned facility. oh, I know this doesn't even come close to the changing colors many of you see where you live .. but, many people have been heard to say .. "it doesn't change colors in Florida" .. well .. yes it does ! in with the Perennial Peanut plant is an invader/visitor/volunteer .. it has changed color .. ta-da ! yeah, I know it is a stretch .. but walking the yard I looked down .. ''we have Fall .. got to show my friends !'' even though this is a weed of some sort .. I think it is pretty .. somebody .. one of y'all .. told me a "weed is just something you didn't plant " .. © All rights reserved

of Boots of a Sabal Palm .. when the fronds die .. the branch is cut .. these boots remain on the trunk .. until it is time to fall off .. gradually, they fall with help of squirrels .. who chase back and forth through them .. watching Nature change .. right before our eyes .. what a feeling ! edited: www.picMonkey.com © All rights reserved

The Cherry Laurel in the back yard, even though pruned and cared for, has been losing large branches .. it really needed to be planted with Oak companions instead of standing alone to fend for itself all these many years .. breezes, shade and filtered sun through your arms will be missed .. the Mourning Doves will miss visiting .. I will explain to them .. how can one get attatched to a tree ? just know that it saddens me that Cherry L is gone .. even though another tree will be planted, suitable for this area .. it will not replace your green footprints and those gentle, wispy, breezy hugs . . this ride takes you from ground level all the way up to a vantage point where the entire gardens can be seen. As Cypress Gardens is undergoing some changes, don't know that this ride will be kept; most, if not all, rides are to be removed. The focus of the gardens will be an extension of the water park and a return to the splendor of Dick Pope's vison when he started this venture.
