from warm, sunny Florida - THIS is sunbathing - © All rights reserved ------------------ - Official Reptile of the State of Florida - the American Alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) - once hunted almost to extinction - it has become populous enough - that hunts can be held [ yes, they call it a 'harvest' ] - but, you have to have over $1,000 to participate - that should weed out some - when alligators no longer are afraid of humans - that is when they become dangerous - it is against the law to feed them - how can they tell the hand-that-feeds-them - from another human? - there are many interesting [ and scary articles on the internet ] - IF you live here, you know to respect these creatures - who have been here way before we were born - shall be here long after we are gone - if you are going to visit Florida - these are wild animals - now, seriously - you really want to get up close and make friends with this ?

oh, the things you can find. when you go hunting in your own yard! Whatever type of wild mushroom/fungus this is, it popped up overnight! Allmost thought it looked like a catchers glove until I got closer. Then, to me, it became prehistoric... thus its name! from the age of the dinosauers.. ....these mushrooms appeared in the yard overnight. This is the second day.. they seem to spread apart on the edges giving a fringed look. Also, they smelled bad! Florida (c) All Rights Reserved
