Caleb Coker House
This house built ca. 1632, was the home of Caleb Coker (1802-1869) and the birthplace of his son, Major James Lide Coker (1837-1918), a Confederate officer, industrialist and founder of Coker College.
Caleb Coker, a merchant, was also director of the Cheraw & Darlington RR, librarian of the Society HIll Library Society and a charter member of the Darlington Agriculture Society.
The original house was behind the store [which is in the photo] -- later, Caleb Coker built a larger home.

now, does that mean price reduced by 30%..
or
do you get 30% less of the bench...
curious about these signs..
if you see "half off" on a sign ..
is it half of the price..
or
half of the item..
curious...
just curious..
besides, it's Tuesday !

- this job of updating, replacing this Publix store
- with more efficient
- newer
- lay-out to match other Publix stores

Being replaced...
one of the oldest Publix grocery stores, in their large chain, is being replaced..
updated..
made more modern..
Choose your term..
The old one was comfortable.. like an old pair of shoes.. you knew where the weak spots were, but you didn't care.
They fit.
My store fit me... fit many hundreds of souls nearby.. one gentlemen pointedly said to a manager.."don't ruin up my store!"
I have to agree.
We will see.
Sometimes newer is better.
But..
not always...
will let you know...
