placed upon this delicate, fragrant Night Blooming Cereus .. a flower which blooms (around 10pm) .. continuing into the next morn, when the process reverses .. a night of beauty & fragrance .. that they are produced on a rather unusual cactus .. makes them all the more amazing ... ^SOOC © All rights reserved

am tired.. This Night Blooming Cereus was almost in full bloom last night around 10pm. This morning at 7:30am.. she was fully opened in all her glory ! No.. have no photo.. Camera malfunction.. Canon now has batteries and memory card to go into the same area; if the cover isn't lined up exactly, it will not close ! Of course, that only happens when you really have a great shot in front of you ! Took it back to place of purchase; they had to really fiddle with the cover to get it open or closed. So, you just have to imagine last night's shot and this one.. put a fully opened Cereus in between the two.. that's what it looked like! There are two buds... will probably be mid August before they bloom.. so, I will be on another "Cereus night watch".. © All rights reserved

..last night (Thursday, 7-09-09) at 10 pm EDT, this Night Blooming Cereus opened ..it is still here today ..going out for more photo ops ! ..at least I can see where I am going.. © All Rights Reserved

the cactus is using the chain-link fence for support.. this bud has grown through to the other side of the fence.. must go move the branches of that shrub to check for more buds.. and not get stuck by the cactus!

Night Blooming Cereus Cactus bud will open ! A glorious flower, saucer size, and so fragrant! There are 3 buds in different sizes .... !

This flower blooms at night and continues into the next day. Some Night Blooming Cereus all bloom at the same time; this has only had three blooms at one time. This is the first yeat it bloomed. (2008) (note: 2009... there are three buds on the cactus !) © All rights reserved
