the Comanche's teepee The Comanche at the 'East meets West' show at the Spirit of the Buffalo Pow Wow, said the top was where smoke from the fire was released from the teeppee. He said , since they followed the buffalo, things had to be light weight, easy to put up and easy to take down...especially since it was 'womans work!'
