This kind of bright diffuse sky is typical of a winter day in the California Central Valley. We went that day to see the Sandhill Cranes , which spend the winter in this area. Printed 31 March 2013

At Crane Creek Park. I worked hard at this print. My wife liked one that had more exposure and contrast, but I like the softer light look of this one. They both look nice in hand and I'm having fun printing.

There are many places in Sonoma County where walnut trees grow "wild" like this. They turn bright yellow in autumn.

This place has special personal significance to me. I've never made a good photograph here, but was pleased with this one. 1/4 second exposure, I braced myself as well as I could. My first roll of FP4+ and so far I like it a lot! Printed 31 January 2013.
